Meet the team at LPPC
LINDA PERSHINSKE
Linda joined the firm in May, 1988. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Ferris State University in May, 1992 becoming a partner in the firm shortly after obtaining her CPA license. In 1996, Linda purchased the practice from her partner and became the President and Chief Executive Officer of the firm. Linda is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Michigan, a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants, the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Linda specializes in locally and family owned businesses including physician practices, restaurants and retail among others. She is proud to say that many of the firm’s current clients have been with her since she first joined the practice.
Linda enjoys being in the outdoors of Northern Michigan during all seasons and spending time with her husband, three adult children and assorted animals on their small farm in Leelanau County.
KIM McKERCHIE
As a dedicated and detail-oriented accounting professional, Kim McKerchie has been meeting the accounting and bookkeeping needs of businesses and individuals in Northern Michigan for almost 20 years. Kim joined our firm in September, 2001 and holds the position of Senior Staff Accountant.
Kim was hired at Linda Pershinske P.C. prior to beginning her college education. She went on to obtain her Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting. She acquired her education and on the job training side by side, enhancing both her educational and professional experience.
Kim is married to her husband Nate and together they have four daughters. In her down time she loves to go boating and spend time with her family.
BAILEY SOBERAL
Bailey joined the firm in December, 2015 as a Staff Accountant. As a Traverse City Native, Bailey grew up in Traverse City and graduated from Traverse City West Senior High. She continued her studies at Grand Valley State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Human Resource Management in 2015. Bailey has three years of experience as an office assistant and six years of experience as a tax accountant and bookkeeper. When she is not hard at work satisfying your tax and accounting needs, she enjoys playing video games and watching way too many hours of Netflix.
CATHY FLUHARTY
Welcome to Linda Pershinske PC, “how can I help.” As the Office Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper, that is Cathy’s motto.
Cathy joined Linda Pershinske PC in September,2016 and loves helping our clients and staff alike. You will find Cathy Fluharty at the front desk greeting those who come into our office and she is usually the one to answer those who call on the phone. Along with managing the office needs, she completes payroll and monthly accounting for numerous clients.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Ferris State University she has worked in the bookkeeping field in Traverse City, Michigan. While her children were younger, she worked nine plus years for the Traverse City Area Schools with the Child Care and Food Programs.
Cathy has been happily married to her husband for 27 years and they have two wonderful children. Cathy loves her pets. When not working, she enjoys gardening, walking, sewing, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends. On weekends you can often find Cathy at her cottage in the woods.
Nicole Swager
Nicole joined the firm in September 2022 as a bookkeeper and payroll specialist. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management from Davenport University.
Nicole started out in hospitality management before making the move to the accounting industry. She has five years of administrative experience in accounting and now works on monthly accounting and payroll.
Nicole enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, baking, and making use of the TART Trail as much as possible.
